Matt Bergeron is vice president, Asia Pacific Fuels Business, for ExxonMobil's Fuels & Lubricants Company. In his current capacity, Matt is responsible for the performance and profitability of the fuels value chain, from crude to customer, across the region.
Matt is originally from Boston, Massachusetts and holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Trinity College in Connecticut and an MBA from Drexel University.
Matt joined Mobil as a territory manager in Retail Fuels Marketing in Boston in 1989. He progressed through a variety of sales, marketing and staff positions across several markets within the company's U.S. Downstream business.
Following the Exxon and Mobil merger, he joined Fuels Marketing Global Planning in 2001; and moved to Miami as the retail support manager for the Americas South Zone in 2003. In 2005, he began an expatriate assignment in Melbourne, Australia as the retail fuels manager.
Matt returned to the United States in 2007 to take on the position of North America convenience retailing manager. In 2008, he became the global business analysis and reporting manager responsible for the financial reporting and performance analysis of ExxonMobil's Downstream business.
In 2010, Matt was appointed vice president of planning for the Fuels Marketing Company. A year later, he was appointed director of ExxonMobil's Aviation Global Business Unit. In this role, he had responsibility for worldwide sales and operations of ExxonMobil's aviation fuels and lubricants business. In 2013, Matt was appointed as director of marketing for the global retail fuels business; and later appointed vice president of marketing for ExxonMobil's global fuels and lubricants business in 2015.
Matt currently resides in Singapore with his wife, Andrea, and has two daughters attending school in the United States.
